Mount Prospect business seeking votes
The Get Home Smart Card reloadable prepaid taxi card developed by a fledgling Mount Prospect business has been picked as a finalist in the Pepsi Refresh Project and the company is distributing fliers around town seeking votes that will determine whether it gets a $250,000 grant.
Rosette Marturana of Mount Prospect said she has been working on the concept for 2 1/2 years with her sister Geralyn Jackman and cousin Karen Peterson, both of Palatine, but needs the grant to get the product off the ground.
Information on how to vote is at gethomesmartcard.com; voting ends Jan. 31.
