Meet the new Northwest suburban mayors

Residents in four Northwest suburbs woke up Wednesday with new mayors ready to take the helms of their communities, while those in two others welcomed back their mayors for another term.

Newly elected mayors Jeffrey Braiman of Buffalo Grove, Nick Helmer of Prospect Heights and Tom Rooney of Rolling Meadows joined now seven-term Schaumburg Mayor Al Larson and second-term Mayor Kathleen Leitner of Tower Lakes Wednesday morning to exchange congratulations, make plans for future cooperation and take a photo together.

With them in spirit was Albert Pino, elected Tuesday as North Barrington's new mayor.
