Ÿ William B. Lewis, 18, of Woodhollow Lane in Bartlett, was arrested Wednesday and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana at Larkin Center School in the 500 block of Sports Way, just two weeks before his graduation, police said. According to reports, a teacher’s assistant found a clear plastic bag of marijuana that contained five smaller bags of the substance in the teenager’s backpack. There were a total of 5.8 grams of marijuana, police said. Lewis was released from jail with a notice to appear in court Feb. 23 at the Elgin Branch Court.

Ÿ On Thursday morning, someone stole $50, a pair of designer sunglasses and an identification card from an unlocked 2001 maroon Infiniti parked in the 100 block of North Aldine Avenue, police said. The suspect is described as a thin bald 25-year-old white man standing about 5-foot-6, weighing 130 pounds with brown eyes, police said. He was last seen wearing a red jacket and black pants.

Ÿ Someone stole two large orange barricades from Marlowe Middle School in the 9600 block of Haligus Road, police said. The barricades were reported stolen Wednesday and police say they were taken sometime over the holiday break.
