Builder offering deal to compete with short sales

In an effort to compete with the short sales and foreclosures that seem to be getting the most attention from prospective homebuyers, Gerstad Builders is sweetening the deal on its new homes by offering 11 percent off the base price of its homes in Dawson Creek, Liberty Trails and Bailey Estates. For a limited time, at these communities, prospective homebuyers have an ability to shave up to $31,900 off the base price of a new Gerstad home.

“It used to be, when we sold a family one of our high-quality, energy-efficient homes, that we only competed with other new homebuilders, but in today’s economy we find ourselves competing with bank repos and short sales,” said Roger Gerstad, president of Gerstad Builders. “To compete with these new market realities, we have reduced the base price of every one of our great homes in Poplar Grove, McHenry and Williams Bay in Wisconsin.”
