Barrington woman admits taking designer purse

A Cook County judge ordered a Barrington woman undergo a mental health examination along with 24 months probation for stealing a Jimmy Choo purse valued at more than $1,800.

Emilia Khilevich, 61, pleaded guilty Wednesday to the retail theft which took place in September at the Nordstrom store in Schaumburg’s Woodfield Shopping Center.

Prosecutors say Khilevich removed the sensors from the purse, placed it inside her own purse and attempted to leave the store when security personnel apprehended her.

The court also ordered Khilevich to pay a $635 fine.
