Dundee-Crown names alum new coach

Dundee-Crown’s new girls volleyball coach knows what it means to be a Charger.

Christine Hopkins-Muehl, who played volleyball and participated in track and cheerleading when she was a Dundee-Crown student, was named the school’s new girls volleyball coach, athletic director Dick Storm announced Friday.

Hopkins-Muehl takes over for Tracy Williams, who stepped down in December after 18 seasons and 3 regional titles. Hopkins-Muehl served as an assistant varsity coach for Williams last season and has been a coach at the underclass level. She has also served as an assistant track coach.

A health teacher at D-C for 12 years, Hopkins-Muehl is a 2000 graduate of North Central College in Naperville, where she played volleyball. She completed her masters at Aurora University in 2005.
