Bloomingdale Chamber empowers future leaders through annual scholarship program
The Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce is accepting applicants for its annual scholarship program, dedicated to fostering the growth of tomorrow’s leaders.
The program is open to high school seniors or graduates currently enrolled in post-secondary college or university, including students enrolled in a technical education or certificate program.
Applicants must be a current Bloomingdale resident or Bloomingdale Chamber member, or employees and immediate family members of chamber members.
The chamber is offering multiple $1,000 scholarships to students who demonstrate a commitment to their education and community. There is a dedicated Trade School Scholarship for those enrolling in trade school or certification programs, such as cosmetology, car mechanics, and HVAC.
A panel of judges will assess applicants based on their involvement in the community, personal situations, and overall dedication to making a positive impact. The chamber recognizes a high GPA is not the sole indicator of a student’s potential.
The number of scholarships available depends on contributions from chamber businesses. Last year, the chamber awarded 11 students with $1,000 scholarships.
“It is your local businesses supporting your students, which is another reason to support local by shopping, dining, and doing all your business locally,” said Cindy Allston, president/CEO of the Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce.
Donations are being accepted for the 2024 scholarship fund.
