Flapjacks and fire trucks make for fun in Lake Zurich
The Community Emergency Response Team of South Lake County held its 10th annual All-U-Can Eat Pancake Breakfast Sunday at the Lake Zurich Fire Station #1.
Dozens turned out for pancakes, sausage, coffee and juice, as well as a K-9 demonstration, mini firefighter challenge and antique fire truck rides. The event also included silent auctions, raffles and music.
The team serves Deer Park, Hawthorn Woods, Kildeer, Lake Zurich, Long Grove and Ela Township, and provides education and training to residents about disaster preparedness, fire safety, light search-and-rescue team organization and disaster medical operations.
