Northwest Chargers Hockey Coaches Skate Into McDonald's

Mt. Prospect|Northwest Chargers Hockey Association athletes gave coaches a high five on their fundraising efforts.

Northwest Chargers Hockey Director Tim Mueller and 24 coaches volunteered behind the counter on Monday, October 21st at the Mt. Prospect McDonald's located on Rand Road, where they served athletes and their families in their first annual fundraiser.

Coaches Colin VanHauter, Anthony Bronge, and Jason Hogan, sang and danced around the restaurant encouraging athletes and customers to purchase a delicious Apple Pie. Meanwhile, the other coaches tended the front counter, served ice cream and presented delicious food at the drive-thru.

The proceeds from the 115 apple pies sold will help support the Northwest Chargers Hockey scholarship fund for graduating senior players. Twenty percent of the proceeds from the McCoaches Night sales were donated directly to the scholarship fund.

"The Northwest Chargers would like to thank Mr. David Bear for his generosity and for hosting the organization's first McCoaches Night event. The families enjoyed a great evening out with their coaches and fellow teammates." said organizer Kimberly Dahlin. Coach Ron Sowizrol added, "I'm Lovin' It!".

David Bear, Owner Operator of the Mt. Prospect McDonald's and the Bear Family Restaurants were delighted to participate in the worthy cause for local sports and community.
