Historian Gibbons at next Schweikher House 'Conversations in the Studio' event

The Schweikher House Preservation Trust's next Conversations in the Studio event will feature Adam D. Gibbons at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12, in Schaumburg.

Conversations in the Studio is a monthly lecture series that focuses on the trust's mission to connect Schaumburg residents with the historic Schweikher House through topics covering art, architecture and science.

Gibbons will be discussing historic architecture in the form of stone structures located in the Fox Valley area. He is a graduate of Northwestern University and Wake Forest University and has been a genealogist for nearly 30 years.

Located at 645 Meacham Road, the Schweikher House was constructed in 1938 as Modernist architect Paul Schweikher's home and studio. The property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and one of the top 150 architectural sites in Illinois.
