Post 1247 donates washer and dryer to veteran in need

Vernon American Legion Post 1247 is proud to support the efforts of the Veterans Assistance Commission of Lake County.

Recently, Post 1247 presented the VACLC with a check for the purchase of a washer and dryer for a veteran and his four children, who lost their home and have since been relocated into low-cost housing available to civilians on the Great Lakes Navy Base.

Working in conjunction with Lowe’s Home Improvement Center of Vernon Hills, Post 1247 was able to negotiate a favorable price for the appliances, which will be delivered along with presents for the children, courtesy of the Libertyville VFW Post 8741, a Toys For Tots partner, in time for Christmas.
