Mount Prospect Downtown Merchants Association Fall Fest/Oktoberfest Sept. 22-23
Join the Mount Prospect Downtown Merchants Association for its annual Fall Fest and Oktoberfest on Friday, Sept. 22, and Saturday, Sept. 23, at the intersection of Emerson Street and Busse Avenue, in downtown Mount Prospect.
The Oktoberfest event will kick off on Friday evening, Sept. 22 from 4-11 p.m. Live entertainment will get the party going while you enjoy your favorite traditional German food and beverages. The band Paloma will perform a variety of classic German songs, new German hits, oldies, country, and classic standards.
On Saturday, Sept. 23, the day begins with the Fall Festival, one of the best free fall family events in the suburbs. There will be a special needs hour from noon to 1 p.m. Citizens of all ages with special needs are encouraged to come out early and beat the crowds. Food, rides, and activities will be offered beginning at noon. Pre-registration is required for the Special Needs Hour. Please visit www.downtownmountprospect.com to register.
Fall Festival activities and live entertainment for the general public will run from 1-4 p.m. The fun will include hay rides, pony rides, pumpkin decorating, crafts and balloons. New this year - a Root Beer Garden! There will be live entertainment including Dave Herzog's Marionettes, and Mount Prospect Park District dance groups including Ballet Expressions, Impulse Dance Ensemble & Riff Raff Dance Crew.
Immediately following the Fall Festival, stick around for the party to kick into high gear with another night of Oktoberfest from 4-11 p.m. With Phenix German Band performing, it will be guaranteed Gemutlichkeit (good times) for all!
Throughout the weekend, German dance and music groups will entertain including Fanfaren Drum and Bugle Corps, Donauschwaben Children's Dance Group, and Edelweiss Dance Group.

The Mount Prospect Downtown Merchants Association (MPDMA) is a nonprofit organization run by an all-volunteer board that strives to spread awareness of all that downtown Mount Prospect has to offer. The MPDMA coordinates several successful community events in addition to the Fall Festival & Oktoberfest including pub crawls, progressive dinner events, Movies on the Green, Downtown Trick or Treat, and New Year's Eve-Eve Event.
