Sign up for 'Snowshoe Adventure' this winter
Whether you're new to venturing out in the cold snowy months, or a seasoned pro, join Forest Preserve District's "Snowshoe Adventure" programs to give you the skills you need to be comfortable snowshoeing.
After mastering skills like stride length, heel-toe step, and climbing over obstacles, participants will hit the trail for a naturalist-guided hike through the winter wonderland.
Snowshoeing is fun, easy, and the perfect way to explore Kane County forest preserves this winter.
Attend one or all four sessions:
• Saturday, Jan. 28, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve, 37W700 Dean St. in St. Charles;
• Saturday, Feb. 11, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Camp Tomo Chi-Chi Knolls, 40W095 Freeman Road in Gilberts;
• Sunday, Feb. 26, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve, 37W700 Dean St. in St. Charles;
• Saturday, March 18, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Camp Tomo Chi-Chi Knolls, 40W095 Freeman Road in Gilberts.
The fee per program is $25 per person. The fees will be collected at the program, with payment by cash or check required.
The fee includes equipment rental, skills training, and guided hiking. Registration and shoe size are required one week prior to the program.
This program is for ages 8 or older.
