Classical and Indie Guitarist Steve Vazquez Plays at the Adler Center This Weekend

The David Adler Music and Arts Center Concert Series presents Chicago guitarist Steven Vazquez on Saturday, March 12th at 7pm. Vazquez offers a cheeky twist on the Three B's of classical music with a classical guitar concert featuring Bach, Barrios, and Brouwer.

"I had a conversation about the Three B's of classical music: Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms," says Vazquez, "and I thought it would be fun to do a recital with a guitar twist on the names."

Vazquez's concert will also feature two of his imaginative original compositions, "Andromeda" and "Planctus," which have been influenced by classical greats as well as by musicians like Jimi Hendrix.

"I really love the mission of the [Adler Center] and the atmosphere in which they practice it," says Vazquez. "It is a beautiful space that exudes curiosity and learning and nature, and I am excited to play this program so that many can, perhaps, feel a deeper connection to this wonderful music and feel that it really belongs to them."

Tickets for Steve Vazquez: Three B's on Saturday, March 12th may be purchased online at www.adlercenter.org or by calling 847-367-0707. Early booking is recommended, as seating in the Adler Center Ballroom is limited.

Vazquez is a Chicago Artists International Program award recipient and has performed internationally in Prague.
