HOUSTON (AP) - The Houston Texans have signed cornerback Charles James and guard/tackle Jeff Adams to one-year contracts to remain with the team.

James had 14 tackles including one for a loss on defense last season and was a special teams standout, adding five tackles and often downing punts inside the 20-yard-line. He appeared in nine games with one start for Houston last season after spending most of 2014 on the team's practice squad.

Adams started two games for the Texans last season before being placed on injured reserve. He also played two games for Houston in 2014.
