Mount Prospect cancels loose-leaf collection because of snow

Mount Prospect's loose-leaf collection has been canceled for the remainder of the year due to winter weather, officials announced this week. All leaf collection equipment has been changed over for snowplow operations.

Leaves should not be placed in the street. Instead, place them in biodegradable kraft paper bags or rigid containers not to exceed 50 pounds in weight and set at the curb on your normal collection day. The bagged leaf collection program will continue until Dec. 14.
