Barricaded situation ends peacefully in Glendale Heights

A man who barricaded himself in his home in Glendale Heights has surrendered peacefully to police, authorities said.

Authorities were called Tuesday the 400 block of Sydney Avenue in Glendale Heights at 6:39 p.m. for a report of a suicidal person who refused to exit the home.

After ending conversation with members of the Glendale Heights Police Department and the DuPage County Sheriff's Department, officers gained entry to the home and discovered the distraught person.

The uninjured person was transported to the hospital for a medical evaluation, authorities said.
