Spring Grove-area woman found dead after Sunday morning crash

The McHenry County Coroner's office is investigating the death of a woman after a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning along Route 12 east of Sunset Road in Spring Grove.

The body of Tanya McDonough, 33, of unincorporated Spring Grove, was found by a passer-by about 6 a.m., authorities said.

Spring Grove paramedics responded and pronounced McDonough dead at the scene at 6:34 a.m., according to the coroner's office.

An autopsy will be performed Monday to determine cause of death.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash. A male driver who was at the crash site was taken to the hospital, authorities said.
