Fox Valley Crisis Line seeks volunteers
Do you have good communication skills and enjoy helping people?
The Crisis Line of the Fox Valley is looking for candidates for an upcoming spring training session.
Illinois' most vulnerable populations have been negatively impacted by the cutting of programs and services.
This has led to increased levels of stress, anxiety and depression for individuals in our community and has translated into greater need for Crisis Line support.
The free 10-week Crisis Line training begins Thursday, March 16.
Classes will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Association for Individual Development's Behavioral Health site, 1230 N. Highland Ave., in Aurora.
This class prepares individuals to volunteer on the Crisis Line and focuses on issues pertinent to Crisis Calls, such as crisis intervention, mental illness, suicide, domestic violence and sexual assault, alcohol/drug abuse and community resources.
To register or for questions, call Cheryl at (630) 966-4304.
The Association for Individual Development is a nonprofit agency that empowers people with physical, developmental, intellectual and mental health challenges to enjoy lives of dignity and purpose.
