Carolina activates Staal from IR following concussion
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - The Carolina Hurricanes have activated center Jordan Staal from injured reserve after he missed seven games with a concussion.
General manager Ron Francis announced the move Tuesday about seven hours before the Hurricanes play host to Vancouver and says Staal will be eligible to skate against the Canucks.
The 28-year-old Staal has five goals and four assists in 21 games this season. He was hurt in a 3-2 victory over Florida on Nov. 28 and placed on IR the next day.
