White Sox cut roster to 50, release infielder Mike Olt
The White Sox trimmed their major-league camp roster to 50 players on Tuesday, releasing former Cubs third baseman Mike Olt along with three other roster moves.
Olt, 27, had just 1 hit in 10 at-bats in spring training. He had a hitting line of .203/.267/.316 in 24 games with the White Sox last season after being picked up on waivers from the Cubs.
The Sox also optioned pitchers Brandon Brennan and Daniel Webb to their Class AAA Charlotte team, and reassigned left-handed pitcher Jordan Guerrero to their minor-league camp.
