<h3 class="breakHead">ComEd delays Elgin-O'Hare power line plans </h3>

ComEd will delay filing its controversial plan to run tall overhead power lines along the Elgin-O'Hare Expressway with state regulators for at least six months, officials with the utility announced. ComEd spokeswoman Liz Keating said the delay will give company officials more time to meet with suburban leaders, several of whom have voiced opposition to the project. Full story.

Two Fox Lake man argue in a federal lawsuit filed Monday that they were improperly detained, searched and questioned last September during the manhunt after the death of Lt. Joseph Gliniewicz, who authorities say staged his suicide to look like murder because he was embezzling money. Full story.

<h3 class="breakHead">Report tracks racial disparity in jobs for youths in Cook County </h3>

Black young people in Cook County are having a harder time finding work than their counterparts in other similarly sized parts of the country. They're also far less likely to find a job than whites and Hispanics their age in Cook County. That's according to a report being released today from researchers at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Full story.

<h3 class="breakHead">Elgin teen again charged with gun possession </h3>

A 19-year-old felon was arrested and charged Monday after a traffic stop in Elgin in which a handgun was found in his back seat, according to police. He was on probation for a similar offense in Elgin in September 2015, records show. Full story.

<h3 class="breakHead">Geneva man charged in burglary, stabbing</h3>

A 43-year-old Geneva man was arrested and charged over the weekend with burglarizing a garage and stabbing a homeowner during scuffle. Ronald D. Anderson is being held on $500,000 bail and faces six to 30 years in prison. Full story.

<h3 class="breakHead">Former Bensenville man designs Batman's gadgets</h3>

Concept artist Daren Dochterman, a former Bensenville resident and Fenton High School graduate, helped design weapons and gadgets in three major summer movies: "Batman v. Superman; Dawn of Justice," "Independence Day: Resurgence," and "Star Trek Beyond." "It's been a good year," Dochterman says. Full story.

<h3 class="breakHead">Gasol returns as Chicago Bulls beat Kings</h3>

The Bulls last night trailed the struggling Sacramento Kings 95-90 midway through the fourth quarter at the United Center. Coach Fred Hoiberg sent all five starters, including Pau Gasol, back on the floor. The Bulls went on a 19-4 run and salvaged a 109-102 victory. Full story.

<h3 class="breakHead">Traffic</h3>

Intersection improvement work was expected to continue this morning on Dundee Road between Kennicott Avenue and Wilke Road in north Arlington Heights. In the Elgin area on the eastbound Jane Addams Tollway between Route 25 and Route 59, there will be three narrow lanes with little or no shoulder maintained in a construction workzone during peak rush-hour travel periods. Lane shifts should be expected. South Barrington, drivers will want to be on guard for intersection widening and reconstruction affecting all lanes at Algonquin and Barrington roads. Long-term road construction will continue on Lake Street between Greenbrook Boulevard and Ontarioville Road in Hanover Park as part of I-390 interchange work with restrictions in both directions.
