Stevenson wins championship: Stevenson went 3-0 in the Joliet West Invite, won the title and is now 6-0 on the season.
For the tournament, Leo Chen led Stevenson with 21 kills.
Setter Will Sorenson had 51 assists.
Mundelein goes 3-2: At the Hoffman Estates Invite, Mundelein won three of five matches to improve to 4-3 on the season.
The Mustangs defeated Hoffman Estates (25-18, 25-22), Bartlett (25-18, 25-20) and Rockford Auburn (25-21, 21-25, 15-2) but lost to West Chicago and Palatine.
For the tournament, Marc Rey had 23 kills, Abram Nazario had 22 kills, Eric Morales had 19 kills, Tyler VanderPloeg had 14 kills and Martin Carrillo had 13 kills.
Rey also had a team-high 13 blocks.
Ben Arebalo led the defense with 93 digs and Steven Miritello had 88 assists.
At Grayslake Central: Host Grayslake Central went 1-2 at its quad that also involved Larkin, Rockford East and Huntley.
Grayslake Central defeated Huntley (25-17, 25-11) but lost to Larkin (25-11, 21-25, 15-12) and Rockford East (25-12, 25-22).
For the tournament, Austin Rockel led the Rams with 12 kills while settters Javier Ortiz and Steve Reinoso had 17 and 10 assists respectively.
Ortiz also had 7 serving aces.
Jameson Loeffler led the defense with 15 digs.
