Mount Prospect police looking for residential burglary suspect

Police are looking for a man who broke in through the window of a Mount Prospect home Feb. 4, according to a news release from the Mount Prospect Police Department.

The offender is described as a thinly built black man around 25 years old with a dark goatee and wearing a dark hoodie, the release said.

Just after noon, the resident of the home on the 600 block of E. Prospect Ave. heard a knock on his front door but didn't answer it, he then heard a bedroom window slide open, according to the release.

When the resident walked into the bedroom he found himself face to face with a man standing inside, the release said.

The two exchanged words and the offender climbed back out the window and fled in an unknown direction, according to the release.

Tips leading to the arrest and prosecution of the offender could receive a $1,000 reward, the release said.
