Drop off toys in Vernon Hills

Through Dec. 16, Vernon Hills police headquarters, 754 Lakeview Parkway, is a drop-off location for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. Donated toys will be distributed according to age. Ideas for older children include sporting equipment/bags/balls, books, backpacks, cosmetics, purses, watch/wallet gift sets, bath gift sets, board games, radio control car/trucks, hand-held electronics, skateboards/helmets, curling irons, hair straighteners, and hair dryers. New, unwrapped items are accepted. Realistic looking weapons or gifts with food will not be accepted and will not be distributed if donated. Toys can also be dropped off at village hall, 290 Evergreen Drive and the public works facility, 490 Greenleaf Drive.
