Railroad work will close downtown Wheaton crossing for three days
The Union Pacific Railroad crossing at Main Street in Wheaton will be closed to traffic next week to accommodate track repairs.
The closure is set to begin Monday and last through Wednesday, Nov. 8.
Drivers on north Main Street will need to follow a detour route using Liberty Drive to West Street to Front Street.
Traffic going south will be diverted to Wesley Street to West Street to Liberty. The city says traffic lights along the detour route will be changed to flashing red to help improve traffic flow during the repairs and should be treated the same as a stop sign.
