Swing into Spring is Thursday, May 4 in Downtown Palatine!
More than two dozen Downtown Palatine Business Association (DPBA) member businesses will open their doors to ring in the new season on Thursday, May 4 from 5-8 p.m. for the newly branded, Swing into Spring event (formerly Girls on the Town). Area residents are invited to enjoy this evening out with friends or family, and shop for Mother's Day, yourself or another loved one while supporting your local small businesses!
The Swing into Spring Passport provides entrance into the event and automatically enters guests to win a gift basket filled with $600 worth of gift cards. An identical basket will also be awarded to the randomly selected winner of the all-new Social Media Scavenger Hunt, where guests are encouraged to take pictures with different colored scavenger hunt items in each business and post them to the DPBA Facebook or Instagram pages. Passports are $10 and can be purchased through Venmo by searching, @Downtown-Palatine prior to the event - or at any participating location during the event.
DPBA members will be featuring new merchandise for the spring season, along with special offers and sales – in addition to appetizers, sweet treats and wine tastings at select locations. Please visit downtownpalatine.org/swing-into-spring for a list of participating businesses. Events sponsors and vendors will also have tables at the at the Palatine Train Station and upstairs at 19 N. Brockway Street. The Passport will provide a map to all participants!
"This event continues the DPBA's tradition of celebrating the coming of spring and inviting area residents to discover all of the unique businesses that make up Palatine's historic downtown," said DPBA President Jason Goike of The Craft Collective, a creative handmade marketplace which opened its location at the end of 2022. "Nearly 30 businesses will be participating, and the event will also include additional vendors and our generous sponsors. There will be something for everyone to experience and enjoy."
The wide array of businesses that are part of the event include gift shops, boutique clothing and fashion apparel, cooking classes and retail, day care, boarding and training for dogs and puppies, musical instrument and voice lessons, a crafting marketplace, eyebrow microblading and shaping, hair, skin and nail care, restaurants and entertainment, and much more.
Outside businesses can still participate in this event! If you have a business and would like to host a vendor table, the deadline to sign up is Friday, April 28 and can be completed at downtownpalatine.org/swing-into-spring/ where additional event details can be found. Potential vendors can email info@downtownpalatine.org for more information.
