Lisle bands seeking musicians

The Lisle Community Band and Jazz Band are seeking musicians to join in this summer's Concerts in the Park.

The bands are looking for musicians from freshmen in high school on up who play woodwinds, brass or percussion. There are no auditions, but a proficiency on the instrument is required.

The Community Concert Band starts rehearsals from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, at Lisle Senior High School, 1800 Short St.

The Community Jazz Band begins rehearsals at the same times and location on Monday, June 12.

You may join one or both groups with one membership fee of $30 to cover the cost of a uniform shirt.

Community band concerts are scheduled for Thursdays, June 22 and July 13, 20 and 27. The Jazz Band concert is Thursday, Aug. 3.

The bands also are scheduled to march in the July 4 parade.
