Police reports of the week

In an aggravated battery reported to the Glenview Police Department, at 10:45 a.m. on Feb. 26 a Lyft driver picked up a passenger in the 1900 block of Central Road. The driver asked the passenger to put on a mask. The passenger refused. The driver told the passenger to exit the vehicle. The passenger spat on the driver.

At 9:39 p.m. that day, Glenview Police heard from a customer who had been shopping at a business in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard. The customer reported being spat upon by another customer during a verbal altercation.

Bike survey

The Village of Glenview reminds residents that the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways seeks to develop a more defined Bike Plan.

Residents can help the county establish long-term goals for bicycle infrastructure by taking a Bike Plan survey to provide information on which facilities are preferred and how COVID-19 has affected riding.

The survey, an interactive map and other information about biking in Cook County is available by visiting the website, cookcountybikeplan.mysocialpinpoint.com.

Diaper up

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church's Women's Guild No. 35 will hold its annual Diaper Drive March 13-20.

Last year, the guild collected more than 14,000 diapers, which were distributed to OLPH sharing parishes, the Northfield Township Food Pantry, the Maryville Crisis Nursery and Catholic Charities. Diapers are among goods not covered by food assistance programs. The drive's greatest need is larger-size diapers, pullups and "overnights."

When the time comes, drop off diapers at 1213 Spruce Drive, Glenview. Guild No. 35 has also established an Amazon wish list at bit.ly/OLPHDiaperDrive. For information, contact gretchenconlan@yahoo.com or katie.santucci@gmail.com.
