Gerald Subaru teams with Anderson shelter to save pets
Anderson Animal Shelter saves over 4,000 pets every year through its shelters and fostering efforts and provides medical care, food and love to dogs and cats until they're adopted.
“We play matchmaker to match the right pet to the right family or individual,” said Cheryl Greenspan, director of marketing and special events for Anderson Animal Shelter.
As a nonprofit, Anderson Animal Shelter relies on donations, volunteers and corporate partners to serve animals at their locations in South Elgin, North Aurora and Bloomingdale. Gerald Subaru of North Aurora, a longtime supporter of Anderson Animal Shelter, is always asking what the shelter needs and how they can help.
The shelter is hosting its biggest fundraiser, Anderson's Walk4Animals, on Oct. 12. This pet-friendly event features a 1-mile or 3-mile walk route starting and ending at Peg Bond Center in Batavia followed by an “after pawty.” Gerald Subaru of North Aurora is the water sponsor and will be passing out water to dogs and people in two spots along the route. Proceeds will go toward the shelter's goal of raising $200,000 in October.
Both Anderson Animal Shelter and Gerald Subaru love giving people the opportunity to spend time with their pets. Gerald Subaru of North Aurora also helps sponsor Anderson's Pets-a-Palooza Festival, another pet-friendly event that draws over 3,000 people. Their store is pet-friendly and even has pet treats available for dogs accompanying owners while their vehicle is serviced. Check out the dealership's “Furry Friends” bulletin board to see pictures of happy pets in store.
For Greenspan, there's nothing better than supporting ways for humans and animals to connect.
“Our mission is to partner with the community so people can benefit from animal interactions,” said Greenspan.
