Motorola looks at VR technology for public safety 'command center'
SCHAUMBURG - Motorola Solutions is exploring the use of virtual reality that would immerse a public safety command center supervisor in an incident scene.
By using a combination of virtual reality and eye-interaction technologies to navigate through video and data feeds from multiple sources, incident responses can be quickly coordinated and information shared widely to help guide officers and protect people at the scene.
Motorola Solutions will show live demonstrations of the virtual command center next week at the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials 2016, held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
The virtual command center proof of concept uses eye-interaction technology from startup company Eyefluence, a Motorola Solutions Venture Capital investment, to envision the future of public safety.
