Bears' Smith, Mooney listed as 'questionable' for Sunday's game
Bears linebacker Roquan Smith and receiver Darnell Mooney both sat out practice for the third consecutive day, and both are listed as questionable for Sunday's wild-card round playoff game against the New Orleans Saints.
Smith injured his elbow in the first quarter last week against the Green Bay Packers, while Mooney injured his ankle in the fourth quarter. Neither player practiced Wednesday or Thursday.
Cornerback Jaylon Johnson (shoulder) and linebacker Josh Woods (toe/glute) are also questionable. Johnson and Woods were limited participants in practice Friday. Defensive back Buster Skrine (concussion) has already been ruled out for Sunday's game.
Skrine has not played or practiced since suffering a concussion Dec. 6 against Detroit.
Johnson was a limited participant in practice all week, but that's actually a positive sign. Johnson hadn't played or practiced since injuring his shoulder on Dec. 13 against the Houston Texans.
The Bears' defense could be in trouble if Smith is unable to play this week. He was arguably the Bears' best defensive player this season and earned AP All-Pro second-team honors on Friday.
Mooney would be another big loss for the Bears. The rookie has emerged as the No. 2 receiver behind Allen Robinson.
