Local Citizens' Climate Lobby to focus on impact of climate change on children

Are you concerned about climate change and the impacts it will have on our communities, our nation and our planet? Are you looking for an effective strategy to reduce carbon emissions?

The Citizens' Climate Lobby supports putting a price on carbon and returning the revenues to American households. Join the next meeting of the Fox Valley Chapter to learn more at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, at Hawthorne Hill Nature Center, 28 Brookside, Elgin.

Attendees will listen to the February international call (pre-recorded). The speaker is Jeffrey O'Malley, director of the Division of Data, Research and Policy for UNICEF. He is responsible for shaping research and evidence priorities, ensuring that evidence in turn shapes UNICEF policies and strategies. O'Malley joins the February call to discuss UNICEF's report, "Unless We Act Now," about the impact of climate change on children.

Participants also will plan action steps for the months ahead - preparing for in-district meetings with our members of congress during the spring in-district work session March 24-April 11.

The Fox Valley Chapter covers Aurora and Naperville northward to Elgin, Dundee and more. For details, email cclfoxvalley@gmail.com.
