All aboard the Fox River Queen for a Fox Valley Philharmonic concert-cruise

Back by popular demand, the Fox Valley Philharmonic Orchestra will sponsor another riverboat concert at 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, embarking on the Fox River Queen paddlewheel boat from Pottawatomie Park in St. Charles.

As before, the concert-cruise is in the spirit of King George's 1717 party down the Thames River and include a one-hour boat tour on the Fox River. The river-cruise concert comes complete with musical ambience of light classics provided on both decks of the grand paddlewheel boat by the Philharmonic's Woodwind and Brass ensembles.

The benefit-concert supports the Fox Valley Academy of Music Performance, a nonprofit organization providing free orchestra concerts and youth orchestra training throughout the Fox Valley area.

River-cruise benefit tickets are $25 per person. Advance purchase determines boarding sequence; 90-person boat capacity. For tickets, or more information about other Philharmonic events, visit the Fox Valley Academy of Music Performance website, www.fvacademy.org and click on "Events," or call (630) 476-9072.

This event is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency.
