Boys volleyball: Barrington claims sectional title

Barrington's boys volleyball team defeated Deerfield 25-23, 25-14 Tuesday night to win the Machesney Park Harlem sectional championship.

The Broncos will play Oak Park-River Forest Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the state quarterfinals at Hoffman Estates High School.

Leading Barrington in Tuesday's win were Ben Ridgway (10 kills), Gabe Hartke (8 kills, 6 digs), Ved Anand (7 kills, 4 blocks), Ricky Gibson (4 kills, 2 blocks), Kyle Vasquez (27 assists), 8 digs), Chris Babicz (11 digs) and Matt Sarnowski (9 digs).
