Sox get positive medical news on Vaughn, Lynn, Engel
On the injured list in compliance with MLB's existing COVID-19 protocols, rookie left fielder Andrew Vaughn could be back with the White Sox as soon as Saturday.
"The main thing we are waiting on, one last test with Andrew," manager Tony La Russa said. "We expect it's going to be a green light for him."
Lance Lynn, who said he "got a little tight" at the end of Thursday's start against the Tigers, appears to be in good shape.
"We just talked with (trainer) James Kruk and everything looks good," La Russa said. "He should take his ball at the regular time."
Outfielder Adam Engel is continuing to rehab at Class AAA Charlotte after straining his hamstring late in spring training.
If all goes well, Engel could be back with the Sox for Tuesday night's game vs. the Blue Jays.
"Everything is green light going forward, we're excited," La Russa said. "He's going to play different positions the next three days, left, center and right. Get a better read by the end of this weekend."
