Hockey fundraiser donates $8,000 to National MS Society

Local hockey players hit the ice recently to raise money to fight multiple sclerosis.

The event, hosted by the Glacier Ice Arena in Vernon Hills, was called Puck MS. It included two hockey games - one for players younger than 21 and one for ages 21 and older - as well as an open skate for all attendees and performances from two live bands, Bad Idea and The Purple Drapes.

All proceeds from the event were donated to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater Illinois Chapter.

This year the event raised a record-breaking total of $8,000 to help improve the lives of those with multiple sclerosis and help in MS research.
