Girls volleyball: Crystal Lake South sweeps Hampshire for 1st victory

Crystal Lake South's volleyball team beat Hampshire 26-24, 25-15 in Fox Valley Conference action Thursday to even its record at 1-1.

Jenna Rhoades led CL South with 21 assists and 9 digs. Kelly Carlson served 6 aces and added 12 digs, and Samantha Wesoly led the Gator offense with 9 kills.

Prairie Ridge d. Dundee-Crown 25-21, 25-19: The Chargers (0-2) hung around in both games, but didn't have quite enough to take down Prairie Ridge in Fox Valley Conference action Thursday night.

Jenna Brown led Dundee-Crown with 9 assists, 6 digs, and 3 aces. Makena Wesol added 4 kills, while Mia Seaton and Natalia Smiech each finished with 6 digs.

Crystal Lake Central d. Burlington Central 25-12, 25-14: The Rockets (0-2, 0-2) could not generate enough offense against a strong Fox Valley Conference opponent in Crystal Lake Central. Leading Burlington Central were Rylie Hahn with 5 kills, Morgan Leone with 6 digs, and Lily Moretti and Rachel Stoneman with 4 assists each.
