Girls soccer: Aurora CC, St. Charles North grab victories

Gina Cortini, Mary Canning and Grace Aguirre scored goals Tuesday as the Aurora Central Catholic girls soccer team defeated Hinckley-Big Rock 3-0 in nonconference action.

Alex Montalbano had 2 assists for the Chargers (2-0) and Bry Mandarino made 7 saves in goal.

St. Charles North 5, West Chicago 1: Gia Wahlberg had a hat trick and an assist while Hailey Rydberg and Lauren Neslund added goals to lead the North Stars (4-1) to an Upstate Eight crossover win. Rydberg, Amanda Czerniak, Alison Wessel and Morgan Rerko added assists for SCN. Sami Sample (3 saves) and Leanne Stahulak (2 saves) worked the nets for the winners.
