Campaign to help flood victims

Vernon Hills will match donations dollar for dollar up to $5,000 to assist victims of the recent flooding in Louisiana. In response to this disaster and in recognition of Oktoberfest on Saturday, Sept. 24, village officials created a campaign to solicit donations before and after the event. Donations can be made at http://www.classy.org/VernonHillsIllinois. Donations will go to the Baton Rouge Foundation, http://www.braf.org/ that will direct charitable donations to other nonprofit organizations throughout the region.
