Roselle Fire Department to offer CPR class Feb. 6
The Roselle Fire Department is offering a Heartsaver CPR/AED course from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, at the fire station, 100 E. Maple Ave.
The course teaches all lay rescuers when to phone 9-1-1, how to administer CPR, how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED), and how to provide relief from choking.
This course targets people who are expected to respond to cardiovascular emergencies in the workplace, home or public locations, and can be used for all lay rescuers who are required to obtain a credential documenting the completion of a CPR course that includes use of an AED. Participants of this class will be certified by the American Heart Association in the Heartsaver AED course.
The class is limited to 24 people and costs $45, paid in advance.
The next courses will be Thursdays, March 5, April 2 and May 7.
The Roselle Fire Department also offers a Heartsaver Blended Learning course, which includes an online portion and a hands-on session. The online portion provides participants with flexibility of completing the classroom training online, with the hands-on portion (skills practice and testing session) conducted at the Roselle Fire Station. Cost for the Heartsaver/AED Skills Check course is $35.
