Roselle seeks candidate for village trustee vacancy

The Village of Roselle seeks to fill a vacancy on the village board following the resignation of Trustee Patrick Devitt on Oct. 12. The vacancy will be filled by appointment, and the chosen candidate will serve through the remainder of the term, which expires in April 2021.

Candidates interested in appointment to the vacant seat should submit a resume and a letter of interest to roselle@roselle.il.us by Friday, Oct. 30.

Qualified applicants must be registered to vote and must reside within the corporate limits of the Village of Roselle for at least one year prior to appointment.

Trustee Devitt announced his resignation at the conclusion of the village board's regular meeting on Oct. 12.

"Patrick has served on the village board since he was elected as trustee in 2013, and has been an exemplary steward of the community's resources over the past seven-and-a-half years," said Mayor Andy Maglio. "His participation in several important subcommittees, including the finance subcommittee, and most recently, the short-term rental subcommittee, helped strengthen Roselle and move it in the right direction. On behalf of the village board, I thank Patrick for his service to our community, and wish him all the best."
