WeGo Drama to present evening of one-acts

WeGo Drama presents performances directed by its own students during the New Directors Showcase.

The showcase performances begin at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Jan. 27 and Jan. 28, in Weyrauch Auditorium at West Chicago Community High School, 326 Joliet St., West Chicago. Tickets, $10, are available at the door.

The evening of three, one-acts consists of funny and touching shows, taking audiences on an emotional journey of thoughtful fantasy that is appropriate for all audiences. It fits with the 2016-17 theme of "WeGo Drama: Live Adventures."

"The New Directors show is a cool thing because you get to use the skills you have learned in the drama club and drama classes to make something wonderful," student director Vanessa Delgado said. "You know those moments in a movie where you say, 'I would have done that differently'? Now you actually get to."

The company of actors and crew for the show includes Abby Carr, Kenneth Correa, Dylan Davidson, Andres Espinoza, Ricky Geiser and Hannah Thomas from Carol Stream; Nathan Bradley, Anna DeJong, Vanessa Delgado, Jackie Hernandez, Noemi Lara, LaTanya Phillips, Wendy Villafuerte, Alex Weaver and Noah Zieche from West Chicago; and David Brown, Amber Dotson, Neve Ryan, Connor Thompson, Natalie Thompson and Joy Vogt from Winfield.

The show is directed by Mark Begovich. Scenic design and technical direction is by Chris Jensen, and hair and makeup design is by Jamie Elza.
