Sign up for the Heroes Funtastic 5K at Geneva Commons July 8

Geneva Commons is debuting a Heroes Funtastic 5K walk/run on Saturday, July 8. All ages are invited to throw on their hero cape and take part in the 5K, presented by the shopping center in partnership with the Autism Hero Project, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote autism acceptance and change public policy and the way the world does business by being intentional about inclusion.

The public is invited to preregister online to walk in their favorite heroes cape and costume to help raise awareness and funds for the autistic community.

On-site registration starts at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, with the walk/run taking place from 8 to 10 a.m. Capes and costumes are welcome and encouraged, but not required. Race T-shirts will be available for purchase at the registration station. Complementary bottled water will be available for all registrants.

Fees to participate range from $17.79 for ages 8 to 14, to $28.45 for ages 15 and up. Children under age 8 may participate for free with a paid adult registrant. Partial proceeds will benefit the nonprofit Autism Hero Project.

After the 5K, event participants and supporters can shop and dine at any of the mall's 65-plus stores and restaurants, including the new Hacienda Real Mexican restaurant.

The 5K walk/run starts at 7:30 a.m. at Geneva Commons, 602 Commons Drive.
