Mundelein Community Connection Invites Community to WinterFest- A Family Focused Holiday Event

Mundelein Community Connection (MCC), a group of dedicated volunteers responsible for many of Mundelein's special events, cordially invites the community to the Second Annual Mundelein WinterFest! WinterFest is a festival featuring holiday-themed activities for the entire family. The event takes place on Saturday, December 2 from Noon to 4 p.m. at the Village Hall-300 Circle Plaza in Downtown Mundelein. WinterFest is a come and go day of special events for the entire family. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand to greet children in Santa's Cottage from Noon to 3 p.m. There will be goodie bags and hot chocolate for all children who visit Santa.

"We are very excited to host this event and it's a great way to kick-off the holiday season. It's a family-oriented event with lots to entertain children and adults! Mundelein's Plaza Circle is beautifully decorated for the holidays. The huge tree and Santa's Cottage are sure to delight everyone and especially the children. We're hoping for a great turnout," said Mike Flynn, MCC President.

The prelude to WinterFest is Mundelein's Annual Holiday Tree Lighting and Fireworks event on Friday, December 1 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Tree Lighting ceremony features live stage entertainment, hot chocolate and sweet treats provided by the Mundelein Park and Recreation District, the MCC Santa's Cottage, kiddy train rides, and more. Santa will arrive on a giant fire truck, and he and Mrs. Claus will flip the big light switch to light up the night with Mundelein's holiday tree and fireworks cap off the evening.

• Santa's Cottage-Noon to 3 p.m.

• The Mundelein Arts Commission will present the play, "A Christmas Carol" in the Village Hall at

7 p.m.
