Snow puts damper on McHenry County 'Love Nature' celebration

There was no line for the sweet taste of s'mores Sunday at McHenry County Conservation District's Valentine's Day Love Nature Celebration.

Mother Nature put the damper on the event, which drew about 40 people to the Prairieview Education Center in Crystal Lake for crafts, games and music and a guided hike.

Joseph Mionskowski, 4, stepped right up to the firepit for his first ever s'more, while his mother Lily took photos of the snow.

Organizers blamed the weather for the slight turnout, saying 150 people attended last year.
