Harper to name library after benefactors David and Diane Hill

Harper College's renovated library will be named for a Barrington couple who both have served on the board of trustees and donated to the school.

When it opens in fall 2018, Building F on the Palatine campus will be named the David K. Hill Family Library in recognition of David and Diane Hill's contributions to the school in excess of $1 million, officials said.

The Hills have donated funds to create a deaf institute, individual scholarships, capital fundraising campaigns and the Promise Scholarship Program.

David Hill, a trustee from 2004 until his death in 2008, was founder, chairman and CEO of Kimball Hill Homes. Diane Hill completed her late husband's term and then won election to two 6-year terms in 2009 and 2015.

The board of trustees this week approved the library name dedication at the request of the college's foundation.
