Wolf sworn in as Schaumburg police chief
Three days after his formal appointment by the village board, new Schaumburg Police Chief Bill Wolf was sworn in Friday afternoon at a ceremony held at the village's police station.
Wolf was the city of Elgin's interim police chief when Schaumburg hired him as deputy police chief last summer, with the specific intention of his succeeding then-Police Chief James Lamkin upon his retirement.
Lamkin, who had previously been deputy chief in Elgin and chief in St. Charles, retired May 3 after more than five years in Schaumburg and 44 years in law enforcement.
