THE GARDNER SCHOOL GRANTS WISH FOR A CHILD IN HONOR OF THEIR STUDENTS AND FAMILIES
Naperville, Ill. (June 5, 2017) - At a special character-themed send-off party on June 2, 2017, at The Gardner School of Naperville, students, families, and school directors gathered to host a wish sendoff party for a child who is having their wish granted by Make-A-Wish® Illinois. Alex and his family will be traveling to a California theme park, so the students will wish Alex and his family well as they dress in themed attire.
With The Gardner School's $5,000 gift on behalf of its six Chicago-area schools, children like Alex will experience a magical trip to Disneyland in Anaheim, California, this week.
The Gardner School's Chief Operating Officer, Tammy Robinson, said, "Make-A-Wish is leaving an imprint in the lives of so many children who are battling life-threatening illnesses. The Gardner School is honored to help play a role in making dreams come true for these children."
This year alone, The Gardner School has donated $12,000 to Make-A-Wish chapters across the country. They are supporting chapters in each of the five markets in which they have school locations. This is all part of an initiative that began over the holidays to honor The Gardner School's students and their families by making donations to Make-A-Wish in their name.
"The Gardner School knows firsthand about the value of bringing joy into the lives of children. This is why we were compelled to support the work of such a great organization as Make-A-Wish," added Robinson.
