A perfect night for Indian Grove Elementary School at the Mount Prospect McDonald's

Mount Prospect | Indian Grove Elementary School students gave teachers an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to support local education and their school.

Over twenty-five teachers from RTSD26, volunteered behind the counter on Thursday, April 11th, at the Mount Prospect McDonald's located on Rand Rd., where they served students and their families in a fundraiser for Indian Grove Elementary School to raise money for STEAM assemblies, Cultural Arts assemblies, and Author visits.

Mrs. Lynn Fisher, Principal, and Mrs. Amy Veytsman, Assistant Principal, both of Indian Grove Elementary School were at the event the entire night talking with the families, taking pictures with students and working hard behind the counter. Teachers Suchecki and Herrick wore the pie box costume while teachers Ryan, Flessas, Nathan, Mallari, and Killion sold the pies. The proceeds from the sale of 240 pies went directly to benefit the PTC, the students, and school.

The night was extra special because this was the third McTeacher's Night for Indian Grove Elementary School and truly the third time was a charm for them. Teachers Levy, Cutler and Creaser handed out the orders to the families and sang for tips and they were amazing.

David Bear, Owner-Operator of the Mount Prospect McDonald's, and the Bear family were delighted to participate in the worthy cause for education and the community.

"McTeacher's Night is part of McDonald's larger commitment to education and other important initiatives supporting families and the local community," Bear said. David Bear was thrilled that Indian Grove had such a successful third McTeacher's Night.

"We are proud to serve the families of the Indian Grove community and through the McTeacher's Night event. In addition to helping provide financial support for our local schools, we help students feel connected to their school, their teachers and their sense of community and what a great connection the Indian Grove families have."

"Principal Fisher, Assistant Principal Veytsman, and everyone who rolled up their sleeves in support of this event" are the fabric that strengthens our community," Bear said.

The Indian Grove McTeacher's Night would not have been such a huge success without the support of PTC President, Clara Quach and PTC Secretary, Michelle Murphy.
